Professional Training – Credentials
Edward Brant DDS, MS graduated from the School of Dental Medicine at Stony Brook in 1990.
Dr. Brant made the choice to specialize because he wanted to provide a higher standard of care and to treat more difficult patients. Therefore, upon graduation from dental school, Dr. Brant chose to spend 4 additional years at the School of Dental Medicine at the University of Buffalo to become a specialist in dental implants, treating gum disease and solving difficult reconstructive dental problems.
During his specialty training, Dr. Brant had various teaching duties, began to work in private practice and performed scientific research in hopes of developing a vaccine for gum disease.
Advanced Post Graduate Specialization
In 1994, Dr. Brant received his nationally recognized specialist certification in Periodontics and a Master’s Degree in Oral Sciences. Dr. Brant’s advanced knowledge and experience helped earn an appointment as a Clinical Assistant Professor in The Department of Periodontology and Implant Dentistry at the School of Dental Medicine at Stony Brook.
Dr. Brant entered private practice in 1992. Dr. Brant’s ability to render treatment with high success rates and in a painless manner has earned him great respect in the region. Dr. Brant enjoys the honor of being sought after to perform complex procedures on other dentists and their family members.
Seminar Developer
Throughout his career, Dr. Brant has taught a variety of topics and techniques to other surgeons, dentists and dental hygienists at the local, national and international level. Most of Dr. Brant’s lectures focus on providing techniques to diagnose and solve difficult dental and implant problems. Dr. Brant is driven to spread knowledge so more patients can be treated successfully.
Advanced Office Technologies
In 2001, Dr. Brant designed a stress-reducing state of the art dental facility. Numerous patients have commented on the warm and relaxed atmosphere the practice “gives off.” His practice was the first to be completely computerized and paperless in the region.
Adaptation of Advanced 3 Dimensional Imaging
In addition, Dr. Brant’s has a commitment to use technology to enhance success rates and patient comfort. He was the first practitioner in the county to employ the use of an in-office CAT scanner. His practice features an i-CAT, piezotome and a Diode laser.
Catscan xray equipment emit only a fraction of traditional, outdated 2 dimensional xray equipment. Standard xrays are no longer used in our practice.
